Been recording backing vocals for two equally talented “Ellis’s” these last few months: Debut album from Ellis J Barraclough, a fabulous new up and coming artist from Hull, produced by the equally talented Vince Garcia. Receiving great critical acclaim from BBC Introducing, BBC Radio London, and BBC Radio Humberside – definitely one to watch out for!

And also tracks on the new album from Alex Ellis from “Our Man In The Field“, fantastic indie-folk Americana artist from London produced by the wonderful Guy Fletcher.

Ok – this is not exactly breaking news but having taken a sabatical recently whilst moving out of London to the beautiful Suffolk countryside and seeing as we’ve taken over this marvelous studio, I thought it was about time to post some news! Rehearsal pic for Julia Fordham gigs this summer.

Wrote this track with my lovely pal Derrick McKenzie (DJ/Producer and legendary drummer of Jamiroquai), thinking back to the days when I used to do backing vocals for Jamiroquai.

Released on 7th October by Suntree Records, by which time we’ll all be complaining about how cold it is and wishing the summer nights were back again!!

Delighted to have FINALLY released this album with Audio Network! The backlog at Abbey Road Studios was months long after lockdown, but we finally got our session in for the orchestra and as usual it was such a thrill watching them bring this music to life!

Honoured to be included in EMI PM radio show on Soho Radio London, focusing solely on female composers in celebration of international women’s day.

Adding strings to the new album I’m writing for Audio Network, to be released in July 2019. Loved recording these at Abbey Road Studios and very grateful to English Session Orchestra and in particular Caroline Dale for her beautiful cello solo on the title track “Varia”. Here’s a little snippet!

Had the great pleasure of working with the legendary (and really rather lovely) Mark Knopfler, alongside (the equally lovely) Guy Fletcher and Dave Milligan demo’ing songs for the upcoming production of “Local Hero – The Musical” which premiere’s at the Royal Lyceum Theatre in Edinburgh in Spring 2019 and then moves to The Old Vic in London. 

Recently guested with awesome guitarist Dominic Miller at The A-Trane jazz club in Berlin, singing “Shape Of My Heart”. 

Just finishing off writing and recording my mini-album of dark, atmospheric ethic vocal tracks for Audio Network. Got to record cellist extraordinaire David Cohen at Abbey Road Studios ☺ 

Working with legendary producer Steve Brown (Elton John/Manic Street Preachers/Wham etc.) writing songs for a great new artist – a very different musical style from what I usually do so it’s a fun and unusual change! More details to follow shortly….

My song “In Control” just got used for the US TV show “The Fosters 5020” which aired on ABC on the 4^th June.

Busy few months recording backing vocals for this years “America’s Got Talent” and the current series of “The X Factor”

I’ve also been working with the lovely Boo Hewerdine, recording backing vocals for his new album.

I’ve recently done some co-writing with me old mucker’s: producer Jon Kelly and Jamiroquai keyboard player Matt Johnson.

Currently writing with the hugely talented Miles Bould and Scott Firth for a solo project…very excited! 🙂
